                               RESOLUTION NO. 20302
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY FINANCE
                   OFFICER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
                   SOUTH CENTRAL BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY TO
                   PROVIDE LOCAL "ESSX" SERVICE AND RELATED
                   SERVICES TO THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA FOR A
                   PERIOD OF FIVE (5) YEARS BEGINNING AUGUST 2,
                   1994 BASED ON THE RATES AND TERMS IN ITS
                   TARIFFS.

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the City Finance Officer be and is
       hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with South Central
       Bell Telephone Company to provide local "ESSX" service and 
related
       services to the City of Chattanooga for a period of five years
       beginning August 2, 1994; and
       	    	 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the installation charges
       referred to in Attachment A of the letter of election shall not
       apply to the ongoing service provided to the City of Chattanooga
       and that this agreement shall in no way diminish the terms of the 

       concession/franchise agreement of June 13, 1913.
